Psalm 34

These are words of Praise in Gratitude for what God has done in this person’s life.

This “editor” personally agrees with every part of this Psalm 34 of David.

I will extol the LORD at all times; His praise will always be on my lips.

What joy!! I will raise up God’s Name in my thoughts, mind and emotion all day long!  I will say “Praise you Jesus!” and hear myself saying it!

My soul will boast in the LORD; let the afflicted hear and rejoice.

As I boast in what God has done in my heart and life, and what God is continuing to do with me!  I will say it loud enough so that those who are afflicted as I have been will hear me.  When I tell them what Jesus Christ has done for me, they will rejoice in the sure hope that God can help them, too!!

Glorify the LORD with me; let us exalt His Name together.

Give God honor, glory, praise.  Set God aside and above all other things in your life!  Make God the most important entity in your heart, mind, soul and spirit!  Allow yourself (and I will join you!) to lift up His Name, exalt it, so that many others will know of Him, and then know Him personally!!  Let us do this together!! Me where I am, in my life, and you right where you are!!   Oh How blessed God will be as we praise Him and tell others of the Great things He has done for us personally!!

I sought the LORD, and He answered me; He delivered me from all my fears.

This IS what the Lord God Almighty has done for me!  This is what I am boasting about!!  I sought the LORD God out!  I seeked Him, cried out for His help!  Right in my bedroom, right in my car, right in my field, right on the road, I looked up into the sky, into heaven, and cried out with all of my heart out to God!

I told Him of things that no one else knows, and God, in His time and way, saved me from the troubles that no one else could save me from!  God protected me unlike anyone else can do!  God is worthy of my trust, and He has kept me safe from anything that I ever feared!  I am not afraid anymore because I am with my God and He is with me!

Those who look to Him are radiant; their faces are never covered with shame.

I look to God, and I am told His glory shines on my face so my face is radiant!!  And even when no one is seeing me, when I praise the Lord Jesus Christ when I am without other people, I know that I am radiant to Him since He has clothed me in His Righteousness.  When I praise Him for Who He is, and not just for what He has done, then I sense God’s presence and I radiate His love for me from within my soul!!  His joy bubbles up within me and I am radiant in my heart and with His hope!

I have no shame since God put my sins on His Son Jesus Christ’s cross.  I have no shame since Jesus Christ took the punishment that I deserved.  I have no shame since God saw every sin I have ever done, and God Himself said that Jesus’ punishment was enough to take away all of my sins.  I have no shame since there is no condemnation for those IN Christ Jesus.  I have no shame since God declares me clean since His Word lives in me.  I have no shame since God declares I am without spot or blemish since He sees me through His Son Jesus Christ!  I have no shame since Jesus is my Lord and Saviour.

I am not clean because I am “good”, or because I have Jesus just as my Savior, but I am clean because I wear Jesus’ righteousness and He is my Lord.  Jesus is in charge of me, He alone is on the throne of my heart, mind, emotion and spirit!   I seek out His Will for my life and choose to live in gratitude for what He is and has done for me and out of His Perfect love for me, daily.  I choose to live obeying Him in His Word and Holy Spirit, for that is love for God.  See Romans 8

This poor man called, and the LORD heard him; He saved him out of all his troubles.

Yes, that is me!  A poor man, who had nothing of ETERNAL LIFE.  Yes, I had riches and pleasures of this world, but they only ensnarled me.  They often gave me more troubles.  Yes, I made a name for myself to those who mattered to me and yes I had “stuff”.  But I did not have Peace that surpassed all understanding and I did not have Joy in all of my circumstances.  I did have fear in many things and I did have pain, hurt, rejection, and anger with people.  I did have a loneliness that nothing seemed to remove or fill.  I did not feel important even though some said I was.  I ached and sensed death at times.

But I CALLED out to the LORD!   And the Lord God Almighty heard me!!!  I cried out to God out loud!  I called out His Name because I wanted Him to pay attention to me.  I wanted God to come near to me and help me!  I was tired of doing my life alone, doing it “wrong”, feeling bad, having little or no hope, having instability, and ….. I felt desperate sometimes.  I wanted a permanent Help.  So I cried out with my full heart and mind to God.  I am so very glad that I did!!  The Lord God Almighty saved me out of all my troubles, every one of them!!  God has given me a sure hope, a wonderful future, health in ways that I have never known, a Joy that is always inside of me, and Peace that is always in my mind. God has provided me with good and real friends, a family that knows Him, and beauty that surrounds me.  But best of all God is my shield and my very great reward:  A relationship with the Living God Who is my best friend!  I am famous because I am known in a deep way by the most important Person.  I am loved the most because the Lover of my soul is none other than the One Who formed me and changed me into His son. (John 1,3)  I am loved without condition and without end!  I have His Word on it!  No one can snatch me from His Hand!!

The angel of the LORD encamps around those who fear him, and He delivers them.

God lives in my by His Holy Spirit, and He delivers me daily!!

Taste and see that the LORD is good; blessed is the man who takes refuge in Him.

I have done this!  Have His sweet communion, take God as your protector from the evil of this world!  God will deliver all you who put your trust in Him!  God will keep all who trust in Him and His Word safe from the evil one. Call out and cry out to Him now.  He is waiting for you to come to Him!

Fear the LORD, you his saints, for those who fear Him lack nothing.

Jesus said, "I tell you, my friends, do not be afraid of those who kill the body and after that can do no more. But I will show you whom you should fear: Fear Him Who, after the killing of the body, has power to throw you into hell. Yes, I tell you, fear Him.  Luke 12:4-5               Fear of the Lord is the beginning of wisdom.  The fear of the LORD is a fountain of life, turning a man from the snares of death. Proverbs 14:27       Fear of man will prove to be a snare, but whoever trusts in the LORD is kept safe. Proverbs 29:25

The lions may grow weak and hungry, but those who seek the LORD lack no good thing.

And my God will meet all your needs according to His glorious riches in Christ Jesus. Philippians 4:19

Come, my children, listen to me; I will teach you the fear of the LORD. Whoever of you loves life and desires to see many good days, keep your tongue from evil and your lips from speaking lies. Turn from evil and do good; seek peace and pursue it.

The eyes of the LORD are on the righteous and his ears are attentive to their cry; the face of the LORD is against those who do evil, to cut off the memory of them from the earth.

The righteous cry out, and the LORD hears them; He delivers them from all their troubles.

The LORD is close to the brokenhearted and saves those who are crushed in spirit.

A righteous man may have many troubles, but the LORD delivers him from them all;

He protects all his bones, not one of them will be broken.

Evil will slay the wicked; the foes of the righteous will be condemned

The evil one and his children will slay each other, and fall into the pit.  The enemies of God and of His people will be condemned by God’s mighty Hand.

The LORD redeems His servants; no one will be condemned who takes refuge in Him.

See Romans 8
