What is the Narrow Door? What must be my attitude to enter the Kingdom of Heaven? What is a "child's attitude"? Then how do I get into the Kingdom of God? Born a second time?? Live by the Spirit? Jesus answered, "I am the way and the truth and the life. No one comes to the Father except through Me. Jn 14:6 Jesus answered, "If you really knew Me, you would know My Father as well. … Don't you believe that I am in the Father, and that the Father is in Me? The words I say to you are not just My own. Rather, it is the Father, living in Me, Who is doing His work. Believe Me when I say that I am in the Father and the Father is in Me; or at least believe on the evidence of the miracles themselves." Jn 14:7,10-11 What must be my Attitude to enter the Kingdom of Heaven? At that time Jesus, full of joy through the Holy Spirit, said, "I praise You, Father, Lord of heaven and earth, because You have hidden these things from the wise and learned, and revealed them to little children. Yes, Father, for this was Your good pleasure. Lk 10:21; Matt 11:25-26 At that time the disciples came to Jesus and asked, "Who is the greatest in the kingdom of heaven?" He called a little child and had him stand among them. And He said: "I tell you the truth, unless you change and become like little children, you will never enter the kingdom of heaven. Therefore, whoever humbles himself like this child is the greatest in the kingdom of heaven. Matt 18:1-4 Jesus said, "Let the little children come to me, and do not hinder them, for the kingdom of heaven belongs to such as these." Matt 19:14 People were bringing little children to Jesus to have Him touch them, but the disciples rebuked them. When Jesus saw this, He was indignant. He said to them, "Let the little children come to Me, and do not hinder them, for the kingdom of God belongs to such as these. I tell you the truth, anyone who will not receive the kingdom of God like a little child will never enter it." And He took the children in His arms, put His hands on them and blessed them. Mk 10:13-16 The Attitude - A little child trusts, is dependent, is obedient, has the fear of the Lord to know to obey Him, appreciates the Giver of all good gifts, sees the beauty of the Creator's work, and lives on the faith of what he or she knows of God is true. A little child trusts the words it is told. Each person is to be a "little child", trusting in the Lord God Almighty, Lord of heaven and earth. Each person is to be a "little child", trusting in God's Word, taking it at face value, knowing that God's Word means what it says. If we do not trust God's Word, then we are not trusting God Himself and we cannot obey Him with a full heart. If we do not trust God's Word we are unable to surrender to Him and have Him rule our heart and life - thus we will be outside of the Kingdom of God. When we trust God's Word, we will grow dependent upon Him and know Him well enough to obey Him and respect His judgements. When we live in obedience to God out of love for Him, our joy and hope grows full, and we see the beauty in all of His created works, Nature, and we take them personally, knowing they are for the delight of our eyes and ears, and "How Great is the God of the Universe!" Jesus answered, "It is written: 'Man does not live on bread alone, but on every Word that comes from the mouth of God.' " Matt 4:4; Deut 8:3 Then how do I get into the Kingdom of God? Be born a Second Time, be born again?? Now there was a man of the Pharisees named Nicodemus, a member of the Jewish ruling council. He came to Jesus at night and said, "Rabbi, we know you are a teacher who has come from God. For no one could perform the miraculous signs you are doing if God were not with him." In reply Jesus declared, "I tell you the truth, no one can see the kingdom of God unless he is born again. " "How can a man be born when he is old?" Nicodemus asked. "Surely he cannot enter a second time into his mother's womb to be born!" Jesus answered, "I tell you the truth, no one can enter the kingdom of God unless he is born of water and the Spirit. Flesh gives birth to flesh, but the Spirit gives birth to Spirit. You should not be surprised at my saying, 'You must be born again.' The wind blows wherever it pleases. You hear its sound, but you cannot tell where it comes from or where it is going. So it is with everyone born of the Spirit.""How can this be?" Nicodemus asked. "You are Israel's teacher," said Jesus, "and do you not understand these things? I tell you the truth, we speak of what we know, and we testify to what we have seen, but still you people do not accept our testimony. I have spoken to you of earthly things and you do not believe; how then will you believe if I speak of heavenly things? No one has ever gone into heaven except the One Who came from heaven--the Son of Man. Just as Moses lifted up the snake in the desert, so the Son of Man must be lifted up (on the cross, the Atonement for sins), that everyone who believes in Him (Jesus Christ) may have eternal life. "For God so loved the world that He gave His one and only Son, that whoever believes in Him shall not perish but have eternal life. For God did not send his Son into the world to condemn the world, but to save the world through Him. Whoever believes in him is not condemned, but whoever does not believe stands condemned already because he has not believed in the Name of God's one and only Son.This is the verdict: Light has come into the world, but men loved darkness instead of light because their deeds were evil. Everyone who does evil hates the light, and will not come into the light for fear that his deeds will be exposed. But whoever lives by the truth comes into the light, so that it may be seen plainly that what he has done has been done through God." Jn 3:1-21 So I say, live by the Spirit, and you will not gratify the desires of the sinful nature. For the sinful nature desires what is contrary to the Spirit, and the Spirit what is contrary to the sinful nature. Since we live by the Spirit, let us keep in step with the Spirit. Gal 5:16-17,25 Those who obey His commands live in Him, and He in them. And this is how we know that He lives in us: We know it by the Spirit He gave us. We know that we live in Him and He in us, because He has given us of His Spirit. 1Jn 3:24; 1Jn 4:13 Those who live according to the sinful nature have their minds set on what that nature desires; but those who live in accordance with the Spirit have their minds set on what the Spirit desires. Those controlled by the sinful nature cannot please God. You, however, are controlled not by the sinful nature but by the Spirit, if the Spirit of God lives in you. And if anyone does not have the Spirit of Christ, he does not belong to Christ. But if Christ is in you, your body is dead because of sin, yet your spirit is alive because of righteousness. And if the Spirit of Him who raised Jesus from the dead is living in you, He who raised Christ from the dead will also give life to your mortal bodies through His Spirit, Who lives in you. … For if you live according to the sinful nature, you will die; but if by the Spirit you put to death the misdeeds of the body, you will live, because those who are led by the Spirit of God are sons of God. For you did not receive a spirit that makes you a slave
again to fear, but you received the Spirit of
sonship. And by
him we cry, "Abba, Father." The Spirit
himself testifies with our spirit that we are God's children.
Now if we are children, then we are heirs--heirs of God and co-heirs with
Christ, if indeed we share in his sufferings in order that we may also share in
his glory. Rom 8:5-17 "Not by might, Not by power, but by My Spirit", says the Lord Almighty. Zechariah 4:6How do I get this Spirit in me, so I can be a son or daughter of God Almighty? Pray. How can I live by the Spirit? Righteousness - Holy Spirit in the one who trusts Jesus Christ. Bring me to My Religion is Good. |
