Jesus Christ - Person

The Person of Jesus

"I came from the Father and entered the world; now I am leaving the world and going back to the Father."  John 16:28

"For I have come down from heaven not to do my will but to do the will of him who sent me."  John 6:38

Going a little farther, he fell with his face to the ground and prayed, "My Father, if it is possible, may this cup be taken from me. Yet not as I will, but as you will."  Matthew 26:36

Jesus, full of the Holy Spirit, returned from the Jordan and was led by the Spirit in the desert, where for forty days he was tempted by the devil.  Like 4:1-2

"...but the world must learn that I love the Father and that I do exactly what my Father has commanded me."  John 14:31

He was oppressed and afflicted, yet he did not open his mouth; he was led like a lamb to the slaughter, as a sheep before her shearers is silent, so he did not open his mouth.  By oppression and judgment he was taken away.  Isaiah 53:7

"For even the Son of Man did not come to be served, but to serve, and to give his life as a ransom for many."  Mark 10:45

"The greatest among you should be like the youngest, and the one who rules like the one who serves...But I am among you as one who serves."  Luke 22:26-27

Jesus answered,  "Even if I testify on my own behalf, my testimony is valid, for I know where I came from and where I am going.  But you have no idea where I come from or where I am going....In your own Law it is written that the testimony of two men is valid.  I am one who testifies for myself; my other witness is the Father, who sent me."  John 8:14,17-18

Jesus went through Galilee, teaching in their synagogues, preaching the good news of the kingdom, and healing every disease and sickness among the people.  Matthew 4:23

"Here is my servant whom I have chosen, the one I love, in whom I delight; I will put my Spirit on him, and he will proclaim justice to the nations...A bruised reed he will not break, and a smoldering wick he will not snuff out, till he leads justice to victory."  Matthew 12:18,20

On hearing this, Jesus said to them, "It is not the healthy who need a doctor, but the sick.  I have not came to call the righteous, but the sinners."  Mark 2:17

"Whoever believes in me, as the Scripture has said, streams of living water will flow from within him."  John 7:38

Jesus said to her, "I am the resurrection and the life.  He who believes in me will live, even though he dies; and whoever lives and believes in me will never die."  John 11:25,26

When Jesus landed and saw a large crowd, he had compassion on them, because they were like sheep without a shepherd.  So he began teaching them many things. Mark 6:34

"You call me 'Teacher' and 'Lord', and rightly so, for that is what I am.  Now that I, your Lord and Teacher, have washed your feet, you also should wash one another's feet."   John 13:13-14

After three days they found him in the temple courts, sitting among the teachers, listening to them and asking them questions.  Everyone who heard him was amazed at his understanding and his answers.  Luke 2:46,47

Jesus, knowing their thoughts, took a little child and had him stand beside him.  Luke 9:47

Jesus looked at him and loved him.  "One thing you lack," he said. "Go, sell everything you have and give to the poor, and you will have treasure in heaven.  Then come, follow me."  Mark 10:21

Jesus wept.  John 11:35

But Jesus often withdrew to lonely places and prayed.  Luke 5:16

For we do not have a high priest who is unable to sympathize with our weakness, but we have one who has been tempted in every way, just as we are - yet was without sin.  Hebrews 4:15

Then he said to them, "My soul is overwhelmed with sorrow to the point of death.  Stay here and keep watch with me."  Matthew 26:38

The Lord is gracious and compassionate, slow to anger and rich in love.  The Lord is good to all; he has compassion on all he has made...The Lord is faithful to all his promises... Psalm 145:8,9

I know that the Lord secures justice for the poor and upholds the cause of the needy.  Psalm 140:12

Therefore he is able to save completely those who come to God through him, because he always lives to intercede for them.  Hebrews 7:25

He said to me, "You are my Son; today I have become your Father."   Psalm 2:7-12

But when the kindness and love of God our Savior appeared, he saved us, not because of righteous things we had done, but because of His mercy.  He saved us through the washing of rebirth and renewal by the Holy Spirit, whom he poured out on us generously through Jesus Christ our Savior, so that, having been justified by his grace, we might become heirs having the hope of eternal life.   Titus 3:4-7

Jesus Christ is the same yesterday and today and forever. Heb 1:8

Bread of Life : All man's efforts are for his mouth, yet his appetite is never satisfied. Ecclesiastes  6:7  ....without Him, who can eat or find enjoyment?  To the man who pleases Him, God gives wisdom, knowledge and happiness... Ecclesiastes 2:25-26

The Law, Statutes, Precepts, Word are all LOGOS = the Word of God which is Jesus Christ.  The Word that became flesh and dwelt among us.  When we meditate on the words of the Bible, we are ingesting Jesus, and when we ask God for anything, we can receive it through Jesus, like David asked based on the Word of God.

For He remembered His holy promise given to his servant Abraham.  Psalm 105:42     For this reason Christ is the mediator of a new covenant, that those who are called may receive the promised eternal inheritance - now that he has died as a ransom to set them free from the sins committed under the first covenant.  Hebrews 9:15
